We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

True North Academy Child Care Assistant

Campus:                         House Of Prayer Evangelical Church Cody, WY

Position status:              Variable Hours

Reporting to:                  True North Academy Director and/ or Assistant Director

 

Job Summary and Purpose

True North Academy Child Care Assistant staff are primarily responsible for implementing the curriculum within a designated classroom either infants, toddlers, or preschool as True North Academy offers child care and preschool services from Birth to Kindergarten in a Christ-Centered facility. Staff will work closely with parents, children, and other staff for the benefit of the child and the family unit as a whole. 

General Responsibilities

True North Academy Child Care Assistant is responsible for implementing the curriculum for the room in which they have been assigned: Infants, Toddlers, or Preschool age children.  Staff will communicate with other staff and provide information to the parent about the child’s day and any important information that is needed and necessary about the child.

 

Specific Responsibilities and Job Duties

Requirements for Child Care Assistant

  • Must be 18  years of age

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • A child abuse and neglect registry free of disqualifying information is to be performed annually

  • A full fingerprint-based national criminal history check via DCI free of disqualifying information every 5 years

  • Have current First Aid and CPR

  • Have Current TB Test and/ or TB Risk Assessment Documentation

  • Complete Pre-service Training as outlined in Chapter 4 of State of Wyoming Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations

  • Responsibilities of Child Care Assistant

    • Works with those in the community such as but limited to Park County Early Childhood Liaison and Children’s Resource Center and other members of the community to ensure proper development of those enrolled in the facility

    • Follows policies and procedures as outlined in the True North Academy Employee Handbook and Parents Handbook

    • Assist in True North Academy events such as fundraisers and/ or other programs for the general public and enrolled families

    • Attends monthly meetings with staff as needed

    • Performs cleaning duties as needed and necessary

    • Follows the outline for curriculum for the entire facility

    • Follows the outline for curriculum for Preschool (if Preschool Assistant)

    • Uses daily operation paperwork such as diaper logs, feeding logs, sign-in sheets, and other documents needed and necessary for the operation of True North Academy accurately

  • Child and Adult Food Program

    • Attends Annual Civil Rights Training

    • Attends Annual Training for CACFP requirements

    • Follows CACFP guidelines

  • May be asked to perform other duties for the success and operation of True North Academy as needed

 

Time Requirements

  • Attend events as needed by the facility

  • Attend training as needed

  • Attend monthly meetings as needed

True North Academy Child Care Assistants will be working directly with children, staff, families, and at times church members. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
